Getting my shop on!

I actually dislike shopping. Not because I hate new things, but because I have panic attacks everytime I have to spend money. No joke. Shortness of breath, pan in the stomach... Its BAD. I blame you, dad. Anyways, onto the point of this post!

A friend recently sent us a substantial amount of money for our missions trip. He said God told him to do it, and we believe him! So we started spending the money on items we'd been unable to purchase prior to this point. Because of the different temperatures, culture, modes of transportation, accomodations .... We need quite a lot. So today and yesterday we began our shopping!

Things We've GOT!
Capris-to-pants-to-capris
in seconds! I'll be ready for
teaching, gardening and street preaching
coverage+loose+cotton =
cool as a cucumber!
Our AWESOME water bottles
(not just for the trip... We use them DAILY!)

Things We Need! (Let the shopping continue!)

We need packs (left) to act as luggage. We'll be traveling all over by jeepney (right). So our luggage will be under foot, tied to the top, etc etc etc. Our local sporting goods store doesn't have a decent selection (one pack... are you kidding me?!) so we'll have to travel to try out all different types. Cousins, HERE I COME! :)

I'd love to get these skechers shoes (left). But I don't know how well they would hold up. I probably need a wet/dry all-terrain shoes. But with my ankles, knees and all other ailments (I sound elderly...) I'm loving my dependable skechers. I'll probably end up going with something like the Merrell Waterpro Ultra-Sport Water shoes (right) Oliver is eyeing. He was checking these out in "Track'n'Trail" on Sunday, but all they had was neon yellow. OUCH for the eyes!

Oliver has bought nothing for clothing yet. We really aren't sure what the dress-code is for males yet. But we do know we both have to pack REALLY light (1 pair of shoes, half a week of clothing then do laundry, etc). So I've been researching clothing appropriate for him. Let me tell you, this shirt (left) has Oliver written all over it. Not only is he the biggest surfing fan around (not really THAT hard, considering where we live), this shirt boasts a Polyester/cotton Dri-release® blend that "wicks moisture away and feels soft to the touch", it also has a Freshguard® treatment to keep the stinkiness down (he doesn't stink EVER.... Which pisses me off... But you never know what tropical forests could do to you!). And the absolute best feature? SPF 50+. My red head won't burn! And as for the pants (right) .... Oliver says if I call them "burmuda shorts" and not "man capris" That just MAYBE he will try them on! haha! He's such a good sport. I think they'd be functional and ADORABLE! <"3 )~
