A little different than Champbana...

Yesterday mom, dad, Oliver and I went down to Monterey. It was a adorable little down right on the beach. We shopped in little stores up and down the beach and really just had a great time. I had my Illini hoodie on, and actually talked to a lot of cool people about the Rose Bowl, where they were from, had they ever been in Illinois, etc. No one from USC talked with me, but they weren't rude either. After a few hours there we moved on up the coast to Santa Cruz to eat out on the pier. We found a Mexican/seafood restaurant that caught our attention and settled in for dinner. In the bar was a group of gentlemen who were only missing Casey Turner to make the table complete. After dinner we walked down to the end of the pier and observed the overfed sea lions sleeping on a lower dock. A little while later we were on a VERY curvy road -- the Pacific Coast Highway. Quite the fun drive. Would have been better if I didn't have this continuing problem with motion sickness.

When I got home, I found that one of my sister's ex-boyfriends left this charming message on my facebook. Below is also my reply.
Nicholas: Illinois is GAY. The Buckeyes will redeem themselves in the national championship while Illinois gets beaten senseless by USC in the Rose Bowl. Go Trojans! I hope that you come back from the Rose Bowl in tears.Interestingly enough, my response was deleted this morning. Don't dish it if you can't take it. I'm off for more adventures around central California, as we leave for southern California tomorrow morning!
My response: Have you ever heard of good sportsmanship? Or how to speak to a lady? Because obviously you do not have either of those skills, and in the process have made yourself look like an imbecile. Congratulations.
