UPDATE: We have not drowned yet....

Ok, an update on our status. The apartment is so humid that if you step in wearing glasses they fog up immediately and my curls stand on end. The smell is horrible and the walls are scorched around the outlets, due to them shorting out from all the water. We went to the Tenants Union to discuss our rights. Apparently the company who owns our complex is the worst in the county... gggrrreeeaaaatttt. Our conversations with the complex strangely resembled a tango, with each of us taking the lead at different points. We didn't get everything we wanted (AKA out of our lease), but we did get some satiation from our pain. We will be permanently moving downstairs and forward one apartment, and we can begin moving our things as soon as they clean the carpets [tomorrow morning]. I plan on packing up most of our things and putting them in storage. It makes no sense to pack it up, move it, unpack it.... then repeat the whole process again, in 7 months, when we move away from this horrid apartment complex for good. We've begun moving small things, but I am the only one who can get to anything, so it slows the process. With all the furniture packed into the same rooms as our stuff, only my size 4 *coughnotquitecough* tush can fit in and around the rooms.
I've actually spent a good chunk of my night wasting time on iTunes. Having a gen1 iPod meant I didn't care about album art ..... however my gen3 nano has changed that! Who knew it was so time consuming!! But a great stress reliever as well. Tomorrow is going to be tough, so tonight is for us :) And with work starting again on Monday, this weekend is crunch time for packing and moving! It doesn't help that Oliver is sick...
Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes! This flood as actually been a God-thing, and we've really realized that more and more. And with dad home, it has been easier to focus on the apartment and worry less about him. Welp, I'm off to read some of my new book. I had borrowed it from the library, but found myself craving to underline great parts. So rather than give into my desires with a library book, I went and got it for myself at Pages today. I highly suggest it....
